To celebrate, here's some fun facts about left-handers.

  • Three of the last four presidents, including Barack Obama, have been left-handed.
  • Left-handers tend to excel in tennis, baseball, swimming and fencing.
  • Some famous left-handed athletes: swimmer Mark Spitz, former Yankees Ron Guidry and Andy Pettitte, and baseball legend Babe Ruth.
  • Left-handers tend to hit puberty four or five months after right-handers.
  • One in four Apollo astronauts were left-handed.
